Gurevich Lyubov Yuryevna
St. Petersburg prose writer, critic, art historian.
Born in 1946 in Nevel. Graduated from the N.K. Krupskaya Leningrad State Institute of Culture in 1970. Worked as a librarian, chemist, and shipping clerk. She studied psychology in depth. In the early 1980s, she entered the Leningrad underground art scene with the goal of studying it. Before perestroika, she published in samizdat—under the pseudonym Lyubov Bret and under her own name in the magazines Chasy and Krasny Shchedrinets. Texts published later, with few exceptions, are devoted to the Leningrad artistic underground or contemporary St. Petersburg painting. Author of the biographical dictionary "Artists of the Leningrad Underground." Member of the St. Petersburg branch of the international PEN Club.
