Genus. 07/10/1937 in the village. Idritsa, Kalinin (now Tver) region. After serving in the army, he worked in Moscow, including in VOKhR. He was engaged in the reprinting and distribution of Christian literature in samizdat, and also wrote his own articles on the topic of religion. At the end of April 1969 he was placed in a psychiatric hospital. These events are described by him in Notes from the Red House (1969). Released on May 15, 1969. Until 1987, he was registered in a mental dispensary. In the 1980s continued his journalistic activities, and also edited and published the samizdat almanacs Many Years (1980-1982) and Nepryadva (1987-1991). Since 1991, he began to be published in the large-circulation press in Russia, since 1993 - in the magazine "Young Guard". In 2003, his book "The Dispute about Russia" was published, containing selected articles written between 1971 and 2003. He died on May 24, 2013 in Moscow.
