Genus. 09/17/1895. Writer, artist. Arrested 02/03/1938. The military collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR “for participation in an anti-Soviet right-wing Trotskyist terrorist and sabotage-sabotage organization” was sentenced to death. This arrest was not the first in a series of so-called. “Leningrad writer’s case”, as a result of which Benedikt Livshits (who was named one of the leaders of the organization), Valentin Stenich, Wilhelm Sorgenfrey and Yuri Yurkun were imprisoned and executed. The sentence was carried out on September 21, 1938. From that same day, years of camps began for the wives of executed writers. As a result of the arrest and subsequent search, most of the archive (among which was an essay on memories of Vladimir Mayakovsky) of Yuri Yurkun was seized by NKVD officers. Another part of the archive, left for the safekeeping of a family close to the Yurkuns, disappeared during the years of the siege. Rehabilitated 03/22/1958.
