Genus. in 1921. At the beginning of the war he was captured and was in Germany. While in captivity, he took part in the activities of an underground organization of prisoners of war associated with the Red Chapel. After being released from captivity, he returned to his homeland. In January 1947, on the way to Leningrad, he was arrested in Novosibirsk. The arrest was associated with large-scale repressions against members of the anti-Hitler resistance in Germany (Leopold Trepper and others). He was kept in an internal prison in Novosibirsk for 7 months and was subjected to pressure to sign a “confession” under Art. 58-1 "a", not signed. He was on a hunger strike in prison. In the summer of 1947 he was sent from Moscow to the Butyrka prison, where he spent 2 months, went on a hunger strike, and was sent to Leningrad, to Kresty. Released in January 1948.
