Genus. in 1921 in Moscow in a family of doctors. In 1939 he graduated from secondary school No. 240 in the Dzherzhinsky district of Moscow and entered the 3rd medical institute. In April 1949 arrested and charged with “criminal connections with foreigners and anti-Soviet agitation.” 09/24/1949 sentenced by a Special Meeting at the MGB to 10 years in labor camp. Sent in “Stolypin” carriages to Kazakhstan, passed Kuibyshev, Chelyabinsk, Omsk, Pavlodar shipments.
In December 1949 arrived at the Ekibastuz camp (Northern Kazakhstan).
In April 1950 An illegal interethnic Council of Prisoners was organized in the camp. Badash serves on the Council as a representative of Jewish prisoners.
January 21-29, 1952 - mass execution of prisoners in the camp, a camp-wide hunger strike, the arrival of a commission from the Steplag Administration, negotiations with representatives of prisoners. 02/14/1953 the disbandment of the camp was announced, S.Yu. Badash was transferred to the Churbay Nura camp, where he works in a coal mine.
In the spring of 1953, he was sent along with other prisoners - members of the Ekibastuz camp council - in freight cars to the Arctic through the Krasnoyarsk transfer. Convoyed in the hold of a steamer to the village of Dudinka, then by rail to Norilsk, then to Gorlag. Sent to a brigade of carpenters, then transferred to work in the medical unit of the 4th separate camp point (OLP). In May 1953 - uprising in the camp. 07/29/1953 the camp was disbanded. In 1958 graduated from medical school. From 1958 to 1982 worked as a doctor in Moscow in 1979-1980. wrote memoirs. In 1982 emigrated with the whole family to Germany, in the city of Bad Ems.
In 1983 participated in the Sakharov Hearings in Lisbon, published articles in Russian publications abroad. In 2003 published an open letter to A. Solzhenitsyn in Vestnik. Died 05.11.2005
