Shmatov Evgeny Lukich

Genus. in 1906 in Odessa, according to other sources - in the city of Nikolaev, Kherson province; priest's son. In 1918, together with his father, he emigrated to Harbin, where he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute. In 1926 he took Soviet citizenship and in 1933 he married and came to the USSR. Lived in Moscow. Engineer of the Soyuz-excavation trust. Arrested 12/20/1936 in the Moscow region, accused under Art. 58-6, 58-7, 58-11. Sentenced by the military tribunal of the Moscow Military District on 08/02/1937 to 6 years in labor camp with a defeat in political rights for 3 years. Arrived in the Magadan region on 12/13/1937 by the ship "Dzhurma". From 02/20/1938 he was treated at the central camp hospital of the Sanitary Department of Dalstroy in the city of Magadan. He died on 06/29/1938 in a camp hospital. Rehabilitated by the Supreme Court of the USSR on 10/05/1956.
