Born in 1907 in the village of Matveishchi, Tver province. Since 1939 - in the army. He took part in the Finnish War and was captured in 1939 while crossing the Vuoksa River. Upon returning from Finnish captivity in 1940, he was arrested, spent 3 months with other prisoners at Vyazniki station, then was sent through a convoy. Sentenced by a special meeting of the NKVD for violating the military oath to 5 years in the camps. Imprisoned in the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (Abest village, Vorkuta village, Bugry village) - until December 1944, then transferred to Kirovobad, Azerbaijan. Released on August 10, 1945. Rehabilitated on July 27, 1969.
