The essay is dedicated to the fate of the Catholic priest Nikolai Mikhasenok, who served in Siberian parishes during the years of the formation of Soviet power. In the conditions of atheistic policy and repression, he remained a spiritual leader and defender of his flock. Despite the devotion of his parishioners and the lack of evidence of guilt, Mikhasenok was arrested, accused of counter-revolutionary activity and exiled to the Solovetsky camp. The story of his arrest, investigation and exile reveals the mechanism of repression against the clergy in the USSR and the tragic fate of the clergy of that time.
