037: Khnykov. Khnykov Mikhail Kireyevich (1894-?). Prisoner's personal file
Mikhail Kireyevich Khnykov was born in 1894 in the village of Veprin, Mogilev province, Dubrovitskaya volost, Cherikov district.
The family moved to the village of Uspenka* in the Tomsk district of the Tomsk province no later than 1918. He was self-taught by education, and according to his documents, he was Russian and a citizen of the USSR. By 1941, Khnykov was working as an ordinary collective farmer on the Krasny Oktyabr collective farm. He was married and had nine children: five boys and four girls. All were born in the village of Uspenka, between 1918 and 1941. His parents died in the early 1930s.
He was detained on July 8 (6?), 1941, by the Pyshkino-Troitsky District Department of the NKVD. On July 18, the district prosecutor signed an arrest warrant for him on charges under Article 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (anti-Soviet agitation). He was transferred to Tomsk Prison No. 3 of the NKVD Novosibirsk Region. His prisoner registration card lists his appearance as average height, light brown hair, gray eyes, and a distinguishing mark: "The thumb of his right hand is torn off at the tip joint."
The case file was very poorly preserved; only six documents were recovered; the rest had crumbled to dust and could not be recognized. However, on the cover of the file were notes about the sentence: "Article 58-10, Part 2 / 6 years" and the start and end dates of the prison term were indicated: from July 8, 1941 to July 8, 1947.** The prisoner's case was closed on February 6, 1942; on the cover it was noted: "Copied / 6/II 42."***
* The village was founded in 1901; in the 1920s, its population was primarily Belarusian. In 1941, the village belonged to the Pyshkino-Troitsky District of the Novosibirsk Region; today, it is part of the Sergeyevskoye rural settlement of the Pervomaysky District of the Tomsk Region.
** The Book of Memory of the Tomsk Region confirms: sentenced on September 30, 1941, to six years in a labor camp on charges of anti-Soviet agitation. Rehabilitated on July 24, 1963.
*** It's most likely that prisoner Mikhail Kireyevich Khnykov died in prison, and the date of death is indicated on the cover. There is no definitive confirmation of this hypothesis, only indirect evidence: one of the unidentified documents at the end of the file resembled a Corpse Examination Report in its appearance (sheet size, ink color, location in the file); similar documents in many other files in this collection had the same appearance.
