Nechay Militsa Andreevna
Born 15.06.1895 in Borisov, Minsk Governorate; graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory in vocals, singer (mezzo-soprano) . Member of the All-Union Communist Party (bolsheviks) since 1920. Worked in trade union organizations. In the 1930s, she was a responsible employee of the Leningrad Regional Department of the Union of Art Workers, head of the theater sector of the People's Commissariat of Education. Arrested on 16.11.1937. Expelled from the party on 02.12.1937. Sentenced on 16.01.1938 by the Special Conference of the NKVD of the USSR under Article 58 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years in a labor camp. Imprisoned in Karlag (Dolinka). Released in 1942 without the right to leave the country. Worked as a civilian. Since 1946 she has been a singer in Karaganda. From 1949 she lived in Murmansk, taught at a music school, and was the director of the Murmansk Drama Theater. Rehabilitated by the USSR Prosecutor's Office in 1955. From 1959 she lived in Leningrad, and from 1960 she was the director of the St. Petersburg Children's Music School No. 18. Member of the Memorial Society since 1992. She died in St. Petersburg on August 10, 1995.
