Expelled from the party on 23.12.1937 for defending the "enemy of the people" Shamrei and failing to expose his wife Nechay M.A., who was arrested in November 1937. Died on 17.12.1941 in besieged Leningrad. Daughter, born in 1934, sent to an NKVD reception center, then to an orphanage. The decision to expel from the party was canceled by the resolution of the Leningrad Regional Committee of the CPSU of 30.07.1957.
