Tsirel-Sprinson Solomon Davidovich
Born in 1900 in Kaluga, in the family of a timber merchant. In 1917 he graduated from the private real school of F. M. Shakhmagov, entered the Moscow Mining Academy. Studied intermittently, worked as a geologist. In 1925 he transferred to Leningrad University, from which he graduated in 1930. Lived in Leningrad. In 1935 - head of the Kolyma Polar Geological Expedition. Arrested on 05.06.1936 in Moscow. Sentenced by the Special Specialized Department of the NKVD of the USSR to 5 years in a labor camp. In prison in Kolyma. While being a prisoner of Sevvostlag, arrested on 28.04.1938. Sentenced by a troika of the NKVD Directorate for Dalstroi to capital punishment, spent 60 days on death row. The sentence was commuted to 10 years in a labor camp. Released in 1942. From 1942 to 1945 he worked in "Vostsibolovo" in Irkutsk, in "Altaizoloto" in Khakassia. From 1945 - in Leningrad, worked in "Lenuglegeologiya". Arrested on 06/09/1949, held in solitary confinement for 8.5 months. Sentenced on 02/04/1950 by the Special Specialized Department of the USSR MGB to 10 years in a labor camp. Imprisoned in Kazakhstan, in Karaganda. Rehabilitated in 1956.
