Tsurkov Arkady Samsonovich
Born 03/15/1958 in Leningrad; Jew. In 1975 he graduated from school No. 121. Member of the underground student organization "Left Opposition", author of articles in the samizdat magazine "Perspective". In 1977 he entered Tartu State University at the Faculty of Mathematics. In 1978 he transferred to Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute named after. Herzen, math.-physics. faculty. Arrested 10/31/1978. Sentenced by the Leningrad City Court on 04/06/1979 under Article 70 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 5 years in a camp and 2 years in exile. He served his sentence in the Perm camps and Chistopol prison. Arrested in prison for the second time at the end of 1983 for continuing his human rights activities while in prison. Sentenced on March 16, 1984 by the Kirovsky District Court of Kazan under Part 2 of Art. 193 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 2 years of imprisonment with the addition of unserved two years of exile for the first sentence. Disabled person (heart disease, thrombophlebitis, severe myopia). Served exile in the village. Troitsko-Pechorsk (Komi ASSR). On 02/12/1987 he was pardoned by the Decree of the PVS of the USSR and released from serving exile. 05/15/1987 registered in Leningrad. Rehabilitated on August 12, 1992 by the conclusion of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation. Emigrated to Israel.
