Under the pretext of a meeting with an illegal immigrant, the KGB was lured to Vienna, sedated with chloroform in a car and driven in handcuffs to the poorly guarded Austrian-Czech border. On the way he came to his senses and was euthanized again. As a result, he fell into a coma and died. He was buried in Moscow under someone else's name.
