Genus. in 1949 in the village of Ibragimovo, Kunashak district, Chelyabinsk region; Tatar; secondary specialized education. Prisoner, twice convicted of common crimes. Sentenced by the Tashkent Regional Court for distributing leaflets in a pre-trial detention center, for “anti-Soviet agitation” on November 26, 1969, under Article 60 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the UzSSR, to 7 years in prison and 5 years of exile, with the addition of part of the unserved term, for a total of 10 years of penal colony and 5 years of exile. He served his sentence in Dubravlaga and Vladimir prison. Convicted on January 19, 1973 by the Zubovo-Polyansky District Court of the Mord ASSR under Art. 206 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (“hooliganism”) for 5 years with the addition of the unserved term, a total of 10 years, of which the first 5 years of imprisonment. On 04/16/1978 he left for the Institute of Technical Institutions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. In custody at the end of 1982, he was arrested for letters addressed to the West. In 1983, he was declared insane and sent to the Alma-Ata St. Petersburg. Released on February 12, 1987. Elected an honorary member of foreign PEN clubs in several European countries. After his release he went to Germany.
