Genus. 09/27/1938 in the village. Račiupėnų, Kupiš district, Lithuania. In 1955, as a 10th grade student, she created an underground anti-Soviet youth organization (they produced leaflets, published a patriotic newspaper, in which G. published her analytical articles). In 1957 - student at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute. She continued her illegal activities (wrote leaflets under the pseudonym “Ruta”, sewed Lithuanian flags). Arrested on March 14, 1958, sentenced on August 28-31, 1958 by the Supreme Court of the Lithuanian SSR under Art. 58 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR by 7th ITL. In custody in the Suslovsky department of Siblag (village of Suslovo, Kemerovo region), then in Ozerny ITL (Irkutsk region). From 04/20/1961 in Dubravlaga (Potma, Mordovia). In 1960, together with another political prisoner, former partisan Jadwiga Zhardinskaite-Bartasienė, they compiled a list of women political prisoners, which they were going to submit to the US Embassy and the UN. Released on March 13, 1965 after serving her sentence, in 1965 (according to other sources, in 1966) she returned to Lithuania. Lived in Siauliai. Received an engineering education. After the liberation of Lithuania, she worked in the Supreme Council and in the Commission to Investigate the Activities of the KGB. In 1993-1994 she worked at the Center for the Study of Genocide and Resistance (Vilnius), since 1997 - specialist in the department of historical research programs. Rehabilitated on June 25, 1990, she received the status of a freedom fighter. Knight of the Order of Gediminas the Great, IV degree. Author of a number of historical works and works of art, including: "History of Resistance 1944-1953", a monograph on Jonas Zemaitis, the novel "Face Down". She died on October 6, 2000 in Siauliai.
