Gurvich Oscar Iosifovich
Genus. 07.11.1921 in Petrograd. In 1941 he entered the Mining Institute. In the winter of 1941-1942 he lived and worked in besieged Leningrad. In the spring of 1942 he went to the front as a volunteer. In 1943 he returned from the front as an invalid and continued his studies at the institute. Arrested on January 26, 1945 by the NKVD for the Leningrad Region. Sentenced on May 18-19, 1945 by the Military Tribunal of the NKVD troops of the Leningrad Region under Art. 58-10 by 10 years in labor camp. He was imprisoned in the camps of Ukhta and Vorkuta of the Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1945-1955. Rehabilitated on 08/02/1955 by a resolution of the UKGB under the Council of Ministers of the USSR for the Leningrad Region. He continued his studies at the Mining Institute, which he graduated in 1959. Until 1964 he worked as a geophysical engineer, then until 1976 he taught at technical colleges and schools. In 1971 he defended his dissertation, candidate of pedagogical sciences. He published poetry and prose under the pseudonym Pavel Irinin. Lived in Leningrad, member of the Memorial Society since 2001. Died in St. Petersburg in April 2004.
