Genus. in 1931 He graduated from the Civil Engineering Institute in Moscow, worked as the head of the construction department in Stepanakert (now Khankendi), and headed Karabakhstroy. After participating in 1965 in speeches by Armenian separatists demanding reunification with Armenia, he was forced to leave Nagorno-Karabakh.
In 1977 returned and before his arrest worked as director of a construction materials plant. In March 1988 became chairman of the “Krunk” committee (“Crane” - a symbol of longing for the “homeland”). After the introduction of martial law in Nagorno-Karabakh, November 28, 1988. arrested in Yerevan by the investigative team of the USSR Prosecutor's Office on charges of bribery. He spent 1.5 years in prison on charges of theft. In May 1990 under pressure from the general public he was released. He was a deputy of the Supreme Councils of Armenia and NKR.
