Melnikov (Belousov) Leonid Ivanovich
Reproduction methods:
Genus. in 1930 in the village. Krasny Borok, Bezhetsky district, Kalinin region; Russian, b/p; higher education - LTI. In 1973, he worked as an economist at a factory in Feodosia and organized the Social Assistance Committee. Based on the study of the works of Marx and Lenin, the committee was supposed to provide citizens with assistance in resolving “unclear issues.” Dismissed due to “downsizing”, he could not get a job for a long time. After contacting various authorities about this, he ended up in a local psychiatric hospital. After his release, he left for Krasnodar. Worked as a senior dispatcher at the Promavtomatika pilot plant in Krasnodar. Arrested on July 4, 1977; during a search, recordings of Voice of America radio broadcasts, a radio receiver, a tape recorder, and manuscripts were confiscated. Charged under Art. 190-1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (he was charged with recordings of foreign radio broadcasts), was declared insane and was sent by the court for compulsory treatment in St. Petersburg. He was kept in the Chernyakhovsk and Krasnodar special psychiatric hospitals. Released on 02/07/1980 by decision of the court of the Prikubansky district of Krasnodar. Since 1989 he lived in Leningrad.
