Sablin Valery Mikhailovich
Definition: Officer of the Baltic Fleet, captain 3rd rank, raised on November 8-9, 1975. uprising on the large anti-submarine ship "Storozhevoy".
Reproduction methods:
Genus. in 1939 in the family of a hereditary naval officer. He graduated from the Higher Naval School named after M.V. Frunze in 1960, where in 1959 he joined the CPSU. Until 1969, he served in the Northern Fleet in combat positions and from the position of assistant commander of a patrol ship entered the Military-Political Academy named after V.I. Lenin. He graduated from it in 1973. Served as deputy ship commander for political affairs on the anti-submarine ship "Storozhevoy". On 11/08/1975, having arbitrarily led the large anti-submarine ship (BPK) of the Baltic Fleet "Storozhevoy", with the support of the majority of the crew, he isolated the ship's commander.
Having assembled the crew, he announced his plans - to go to Kronstadt, and from there to Leningrad, where he intended to address the people on television. He sent a coded radiogram to the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, in which he invited members of the party’s Central Committee to the ship to present to them the demands for a fair reorganization of society.
After the bomber aircraft hit the ship, several dozen sailors freed the captain, he climbed onto the bridge, shot Sablin in the leg and regained command of the ship. Sablin and his supporters were arrested.
Sentenced by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR on July 6-13, 1976 under Art. 64 paragraph "a" of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR (treason to the Motherland) to death. Shot on August 3, 1976.
In 1994, the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation reviewed Sablin’s case “taking into account new circumstances” and reclassified it from “treason to the Motherland” to articles on military crimes (abuse of power, disobedience and resistance to superiors), based on the totality of which the sentence was changed to 10 years in prison freedom. At the same time, in the ruling dated April 12, 1994, it was stated that Sablin and his comrade-in-arms, sailor Alexander Shein (sentenced in 1976 to 8 years in prison) were not subject to full rehabilitation.
