Senderov Valery Anatolievich
Definition: Mathematics teacher at Moscow Special Math School No. 2 (1970-1980). Publicist. Leader of the Moscow organization of the People's Labor Union, member of the editorial board of the Posev magazine. Member of the New York Academy of Sciences. Well-known human rights activist and publicist. Until 2000, he was a member of the editorial board of the weekly Russian Thought. Regular author of the magazine "New World", where, in particular, his memoirs "God and Prison" were published.

Genus. in 1945 in Moscow; Ukrainian; higher education, graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1970; mathematician, has not worked since December 1981 (previously worked as a mathematics teacher at mathematics school No. 2). Arrested on June 17, 1982. The main reason for the arrest was anti-communist publications under his own name in Russian-language publications abroad. Under Article 70 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR ("Anti-Soviet agitation and propaganda") he was sentenced to the maximum sentence: seven years in maximum security camps, followed by exile for five years. During the search, in addition to SMOT bulletins and materials for them, NTS (People's Labor Union) leaflets were also confiscated. At the time of his arrest he declared himself a member of this organization. Sentenced by the Moscow City Court on February 28, 1983 under Article 70 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to 7 years in a penal colony and 5 years in exile. He served his sentence in the Perm camps and Chistopol prison. Released in March 1987 on pardon (without any statements or requests on his part).
Died on November 12, 2014 in Moscow.
