She worked in the newspaper "Leningradsky Rabochiy" (1968–1976), the magazine "Leningrad Panorama" (1982–1988).She was one of the leading typists of the samizdat historical collection "Memory" (1976-1982), editor and publisher of the almanacs "The Past", "Diaspora" and other books, almanacs and magazines of the Phoenix publishing house, founded by her husband Vladimir Alloy (1945-2001) . In 1988–1991, senior expert at the Leningrad branch of the Soviet Cultural Foundation, head of the public commission “Living Memory” and the publishing department of the Foundation.
Member of the Initiative Group and Organizing Committee of the Leningrad Society "Memorial" (1988).
From 2009 to December 2017, she worked at the Memorial Research Center as an editor: she edited the Gulag Virtual Museum website and other projects and publications of the Memorial Research Center and the Iofe Foundation in 2009-2017.
She passed away on January 25, 2018.
