Arapova (Trachtenberg) Maria Petrovna

Born in 1903 in St. Petersburg to a noble family. Graduated from high school. Worked at a grammar phone factory as a toolmaker. Knew two languages. From 1932 she worked at the library of the Polytechnic Institute as a technician-archivist. Lived in Leningrad (Zagorodny pr. 22, apt. 37). Arrested on 02.10.1937 by the NKVD Directorate for the Leningrad Region in connection with the arrest of her husband. By the decree of the OS under the NKVD of the USSR dated 09.10.1937, she was sentenced to 5 years in prison. While imprisoned in the Tomsk women's camp, and from 1939 at the Yaya station in the Tomsk region, she worked in a sewing factory. Released in October 1942, exiled to the Sverdlovsk region. In exile in Krasnoturyinsk. Changed her husband's surname to her maiden name, and also changed her son's surname. Rehabilitated by VT LenVO 03.09.1956 . From 1957 she lived in Gatchina, worked in a clinic as a registrar, then as a manager at the sanitary and epidemiological station of Gatchina. Retired in 1955. Died in 1985.
