Genus. January 17, 1939. Ukrainian politician. Doctor of Technical Sciences (1994), Professor (1995), Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1997). From 1977 to 1990 he worked in the apparatus of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine, and from 1980 he was the head of the sector of rocketry and aviation technology. Since 1990 - head of the subsection of the defense complex, communications and mechanical engineering of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Since 1992 - General Director of the National Space Agency of Ukraine. Since August 1994 - Secretary of the National Security Council under the President of Ukraine, since October 1994 - Advisor to the President of Ukraine on national security issues. From August 1996 to November 1999 - Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Since November 1999 - Advisor to the President of Ukraine. From July 2000 to December 2002 - Head of the State Commission for the Military-Industrial Complex of Ukraine. Since May 24, 2006 - Acting Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
