Genus. in 1917 in the city of Korocha, Kursk province (now Belgorod region), higher education, parasitologist. Lived in Leningrad. WWII participant, senior researcher, then leading researcher at the Institute of Zoology of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1960–1993). Author of the letter L.I. Brezhnev with a protest against the invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968. He wrote to the country's leaders about environmental problems. He was persecuted: expelled from the CPSU in 1968, his letter to A.N. circulated in Samizdat. Kosygin in 1970 with a description of the ordeal and a call to return to Leninist norms.
