Genus. in 1950 in the village of Potoki, Ukrainian SSR, Poltava region, Kremenchug district; Ukrainian; secondary education; mechanic at the motor depot of the Yuzhspetsstroy trust. Lived in Kharkov, Ukrainian SSR. In 1971 submitted an application to the OVIR to renounce Soviet citizenship and leave for the United States.
Arrested on August 20, 1973. Sentenced by the Kharkov Regional Court on June 26, 1974 under Article 62 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 5 years in prison. He served his term in Perm camps - No. 36, No. 37. Released in 1978, he again began to seek permission to leave the USSR.
