Born in 1942 in Krasnodar. He received his primary art education in Moscow, in an art studio. In the early 1960s comes to Leningrad. In 1961, he was a member of the Leningrad City Committee of Artists (Leningrad Joint Committee of Graphic Artists and the Trade Union of Cultural Workers). Participant of the "Bulldozer Exhibition" in Moscow. Known for the scandal associated with the tragic death of his wife Mila Boblyak and the Leningrad artist Yevgeny Rukhin in 1978. He was boycotted and obstructed by Leningrad artists. In 1980 he emigrated to the USA. Died 1987
