At the beginning of World War I, he opened an infirmary for officers in his house on Millionnaya Street. In 1919, the Cheka was arrested for several days. In the same year, he donated his collections of antiques to the museums of Petrograd. In 1922 - a supernumerary employee of the Pushkin House of the Academy of Sciences. Arrested 07/21/1922; sentenced by the NKVD Commission on adm. deportations 09.12.1922 for deportation from Pg. for 3 years. Emigrated after 1924. Died in 1930. Buried in Paris at Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois.
