Zakharchenko Vasily Ivanovich

Genus. in 1936 in the Ukrainian SSR, Poltava region, Poltava district, village Gutirovki; Ukrainian; higher education in 1958. graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Kyiv University; journalist, literary employee of the editorial office of the newspaper Cherkasskaya Pravda. Member of the Union of Writers of the Ukrainian SSR. Lived in the city of Cherkasy, Ukrainian SSR.
Arrested on 01/31/1973. Sentenced by the Cherkasy Regional Court on 07/27/1973 under article 62 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 5 years in a penal colony. He served his term in the Perm camps, camp number 35. Decree of the PVS of the Ukrainian SSR dated 25.08.1976 No. pardoned. Released 09/03/1976. In July 1977 he wrote a letter to the newspaper "Literary Ukraine", in which he condemned his "anti-Soviet past".
