Definition: Soviet statesman, head of the Eastern Section of the Agrarian Institute of the Communist Academy, member of the editorial board of the journal "On the Agrarian Front" and the All-Union Society of Marxist Agrarians.

Evgenia Zelkina was born in 1900 in the family of a Moscow doctor. She graduated from the Institute of Red Professors, where she met her future husband. Prior to her arrest, she served as Deputy People's Commissar for Agriculture of Uzbekistan. On September 5, 1937, she was arrested in Tashkent.She died in 1938 or in 1940 during torture in the NKVD prison. *
