Genus. in 1925 in Moscow; higher education. In 1943-1949 in the Soviet army, he graduated from the Tomsk Artillery School; participated in the fighting in Western Ukraine, in Poland, in the battles for the capture of Berlin, Prague; awarded the Order of the Red Star. In 1949 he was demobilized, entered the history department of Moscow State University; arrested 10/07/1949; sentenced by the OSO under the Minister of the Ministry of State Security of the USSR on 06/24/1950 under Art. 58-10 h. 1 and 58-11 imprisoned in labor camp for 10 years. Imprisoned in Kargopollag. Released by decision of the Central Commission for the Review of Cases against Persons Convicted of Counter-Revolutionary Crimes dated 08/16/1954. From February 1957 in Leningrad, he worked as a researcher at the Leningrad branch of the Institute of Ethnography. Lived in Australia since 1990. Rehabilitated by the Judicial Collegium of the USSR Supreme Court on 07/31/1956.
