Born in the village of Ust-Khopyorskaya, Russian Empire. He began his education at the Ust-Medveditsk classical gymnasium, from where he moved to the Voronezh military gymnasium. He graduated from the 2nd military Konstantinovsky and Mikhailovsky artillery school. He graduated from the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff in the 1st category with admission to the General Staff.He served in the Russian army in officer positions from 09/01/1879 to 10/25/11/7/1917.
Participated in the armed struggle against the Bolsheviks on the Don from 1917 to 1918. 29.01. (11.02.) 1918 committed suicide with a shot in the heart. According to another version, he was killed as a result of an assassination attempt.
