The tanker "Tuapse" was detained by the Taiwanese fleet on 06/23/1954. The captain, along with the crew, was held captive for more than a year. Released by the joint efforts of the leadership of France and the Swedish Red Cross. Returned to Moscow on July 30, 1955.
