Born in 1910 in the village of Limany, Krestetsky District, Novgorod Region; Estonian. Electric welding instructor at the Krasnaya Zvezda plant. In 1941, he was evacuated together with the plant to the city of Sverdlovsk. Arrested on 15 November 1943. Sentenced on 18 March 1944 to 5 years in a labor camp. Imprisoned in Ivdellag, Sverdlovsk Region. Released on 20 June 1948. Rehabilitated on 11 March 1965 by the Sverdlovsk Regional Court.
