Born in 1923 in Astrakhan. Hereditary lawyer and hereditary nobleman. In 1990, together with Yu. Ilyin, he organized the Leningrad United Bar Association, the first independent bar association in the USSR and Russia. He worked as Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of this Collegium. In 1993, with a large group of lawyers from Estonia and Russia, he created the International Bar Association “St. Petersburg” and was elected its first President.
