Kravchenko Volodymyr Fedorovich

Genus. in 1937 in the North Kazakhstan region, Ukrainian, graduated from the Krivoy Rog Mining College, served in the SA (1957-1960). In 1957-1960. studied at the Odessa Technological Institute as an electrical engineer in radioisotope equipment. In 1963 joined the CPSU in 1964. expelled for critical remarks about party leaders. Expelled from the institute, then reinstated. Lived in Krivoy Rog. He worked as an engineer, then as a worker. In 1973 wrote letters to the Pravda newspaper against the persecution of Sakharov and Solzhenitsyn, sent telegrams to Brezhnev. Arrested by the Krivoy Rog KGB on September 30, 1975, prosecuted under Art. 187-1 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR, declared insane on July 22, 1976. Krasnogvardeisky district court of Dnepropetrovsk and sent for compulsory treatment to a special type of psychiatric hospital, where he was until 11/24/1981. In 1981 transferred for further treatment to a general psychiatric hospital. In 1982 discharged. As officially incompetent, he could not get a job. In 1984 turned to the Dnepropetrovsk psychiatric hospital to restore his legal capacity, but as a mental patient he was "stationaryized" for treatment. In 1988 his guardian filed an application with the Zheleznogorsk City Court of the Kursk Region to recognize Kravchenko as capable. 07/04/1989 recognized as capable. He worked as a mechanic, was a member of "Memorial", a member of "Rukh", a deputy of the City Council.
