Born in 1931 in the village of Butuceni, Rybnitsa district, Moldavian ASSR. After her parents were arrested in 1937, she was taken to Belarus, to the city of Senno, Vitebsk region, where she ended up in Zazersky Children's Home No. 13. Since 1953, she has lived in Leningrad.
