Definition: Russian Soviet literary critic, Doctor of Philology, professor. Laureate of the USSR State Prize in the field of literature, art and architecture, member of the Union of Writers of the USSR. From 1952 to 1985 - professor and head of the department of modern literature at Moscow State University named after M. V. Lomonosov.
