Mirzayanov Vil Sultanovich

Genus. in 1935. Having graduated from the Dyurtyulin Tatar school No. 1 in 1953 with a silver medal, he entered the Moscow Chemical Institute of Fine Chemical Technology named after M.V. Lomonosov. He defended his Ph.D. thesis and in 1965 began working at the State Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology (GosNIIOKhT). He held the position of head of the department for countering foreign technical intelligence. He received the degree of Doctor of Chemical Sciences, and in 1985 - the academic title of professor. In 1992, he published an article “Poisoned Politics” in the Moscow News newspaper, where he sharply criticized the Russian military-industrial complex and accused the highest authorities in the country of violating the Paris Convention on the cessation of production and testing of chemical weapons. Accused of disclosing state secrets (Article 75, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR) and arrested on October 22, 1992. After the decision to terminate the criminal case, he was engaged in opposition political activities. He was the chairman of the organizing committee of the Tatar People's Party, which was part of the Federal Democratic Movement of Russia (FDDR; “Novikov’s party”). In 1996 he emigrated to the USA.
