A journalist who worked for regional newspapers. A novel he had written and submitted to publishers was rejected, so he "entered into criminal contact" with a correspondent for The Times of London. He was arrested on October 31, 1973. Sentenced by the Sverdlovsk Regional Court on March 18, 1974, under Article 190 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR to two years and six months in a general-regime penal colony. He was rehabilitated in 1992. In 1997, he lived in Tuapse, working as a photographer.
