Genus. in 1896. After graduating from the St. Petersburg Theater School (teachers M.K. Obukhov, N.G. Legat) he danced at the Mariinsky Theater (1913-1920). He was Anna Pavlova's partner in 1914 during her tour in Russia. In the 1920s, he emigrated first to Bucharest, where he performed at the Bucharest Opera House (1920-22). Then, at the invitation of B.G. Romanov worked in the Russian Romantic Theater troupe, which settled in Berlin (1922-25). Together with Anton Dolin and his wife V.N. Nemchinova, he founded the Nemchinov-Dolin Ballet troupe, with which he toured in London (1927-28). He was an artist at the State Theater in Kaunas (1930-1934), performed in the Russian Ballet of Monte Carlo (1935-1939) and in the Original Ballet Russe (1939-1940). From 1940 to 1962 - teacher of the ballet school at the New York City Ballet troupe. Died 02/25/1962 in New York.
