Orlov Alexei Stepanovich (Archbishop Alexy)
Genus. in 1862 in Samara; Russian; Higher spiritual education, in 1886 he graduated from the St. Petersburg Theological Academy. From 1923 - Bishop of Bugulma, then Bishop of Buguruslan, from 1924 - Bishop of Kurgan, from 1927 - Bishop of Malmyzh, from 1931 - Bishop of Enotaevsky. In April 1931 he was expelled from Astrakhan. Since June 1931 - Bishop of Syzran. Sent to Siberia. Since August 1931 - Bishop of Omsk. In 1933 he was elevated to the rank of archbishop. Arrested 04/24/1935. Sentenced on October 25, 1935 by a Special Meeting of the NKVD of the USSR under Articles 58-10, 58-11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for “participation in a counter-revolutionary group” to 5 years of exile in Kazakhstan . Lived in Mirzoyan, South Kazakhstan region. Arrested on May 15, 1937, imprisoned in Mirzoyan prison. Sentenced on 08/26/1937 by a troika at the NKVD for the South Kazakhstan region under Article 58-10 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for “anti-Soviet activities, organizing illegal church communities, a/c agitation” to VMN. Rehabilitated on 06/22/1989 by the Prosecutor's Office of the Omsk Region in the case of 1935, 06/05/1958 by the Presidium of the South Kazakhstan Regional Court in the case of 1937.
