Born in 1935 in Moscow. Graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University. He was published in many Soviet publications: Pravda, Izvestia, Foreign Literature, Youth. In the 1960s - Executive Secretary of the magazine "Asia and Africa Today" (until 1973). Since 1973, he has been a participant in the human rights movement, an active defender of the rights of evangelical Christians, Pentecostals and Baptists. Emigrated to the USA in 1978. Since 1984 - journalist for the Russian department of Radio Liberty. Participated in the development of a draft resolution of the rights (including the right to emigrate) of Evangelical Christians, Pentecostals and Baptists in the USSR, developed in 1980 by the US government. Lived in New York, then in Washington. Author of four books. Died 07/01/2020 in St. Petersburg.
