Genus. in 1950 in Minusinsk, Krasnoyarsk region. Worker. In 1968 he refused military service in connection with the events in Czechoslovakia. In February 1969, a criminal case was opened against him on charges of evading military service. An outpatient examination in Nalchik declared him insane, and he was sent for compulsory treatment to the Kabardino-Balkarian Republican Hospital. He was discharged in March 1970, went to Latvia, worked on a state farm. Then he returned to Nalchik. In 1971, he decided to leave the USSR, tried to cross the border, but was detained by border guards. He was declared insane and sent to the Dnepropetrovsk St. Petersburg. Discharged at the end of April 1978.
