Genus. in 1789. The only son of the priest of the village of Ivanovskoye, Ardatovsky district, Nizhny Novgorod province, Joseph Vasilyevich, who did not have a surname. He received his last name upon entering the Nizhny Novgorod Theological Seminary. In 1815 he was ordained a priest to the Arzamas Church of the Exaltation of the Cross. In 1829 he was elevated to the rank of archpriest. In 1851 it was moved to the Annunciation Church, and in 1854 to the Resurrection Cathedral, of which he was rector for 11 years. In 1845-1864. was the dean of the churches of Arzamas. In 1865 he retired. He was buried at All Saints Cemetery.
