Genus. in 1907 in Moscow; Russian; from the family of a manufacturer; secondary education; Member of the RSDLP, Menshevik. In 1924 he was arrested on charges of “creating a criminal youth group”, sentenced to 3 years in a labor camp, and imprisoned in Solovki. In June 1925 he was in Butyrka prison, in 1927–1929 in exile in Berezovo, in 1928 he was exiled to Kazakhstan for 3 years. In 1931 he was released with a restriction of residence in large cities for 3 years (“minus 18”). Lived in Voronezh, before his arrest, without any specific occupation. Arrested in 1932 in Voronezh as a “member of a criminal organization”, released. On 02/02/1935 he submitted an appeal to the VII All-Union Congress of Soviets with a statement about renouncing Soviet citizenship, and at the same time sent a letter to European Social Democracy through the Swedish diplomatic mission. Soon he was arrested, under investigation in Butyrka prison, and went on hunger strike three times. Sentenced on June 15, 1935 by the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of the USSR under Art. 58-1a of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR for execution, on June 20, 1930, the judicial review board of the USSR Armed Forces replaced the execution with 10 years of labor camp with detention in the Solovetsky camps. He went on a hunger strike, demanding that the camp be replaced with a political detention center for the same period. In 1936 he was in the Savvatyevsky special detention center. In 1937 he was transferred to prison regime. By resolution of the Special Troika of the UNKVD LO dated 10/09/1937 he was sentenced to VMN.
