Skornyakov Yakov Grigorievich

Lived in Dzhambul, believer, Baptist. In 1963 elected minister of the church. In 1966 Convicted under Article 130, 170 clause 1, 200 clause 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kazakh SSR to 5 years in a penal colony with confiscation of property. Released after 3 years under an amnesty.
Arrested on July 3, 1978. Convicted on March 19-23, 1979. Dzhambyl Regional Court under Art. 170-1 Criminal Code of Kaz. SSR (=Article 190-1 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR), Part 2 of Art. 130 of the Criminal Code of Kaz. SSR ("Violation of the laws on the separation of church from state and school from church"), Part 1 of Art. 200-1 Criminal Code of Kaz. SSR ("Encroachment on the personality and rights of citizens under the guise of performing religious rites" and Part 1 of Article 164 of the Criminal Code of the Kazakh SSR ("Engagement in a prohibited trade") for 5 years of strict regime with confiscation of property. 20 days before the end of the second term for religious activity in places of detention, sentenced to another 3 years. On April 20, 1990, the Supreme Court of the Kazakh SSR was rehabilitated under Articles 170-1 and 164.
