Genus. in 1873 in Warsaw. In 1896 he graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Warsaw, in 1902 - from the Kazan Theological Academy. From 1910 - Bishop of Pyatigorsk, from 1912 - Bishop of Staritsky, from 1917 - Bishop of Azov and Taganrog. Arrested in March 1922 on charges of “opposing the seizure of church valuables.” Sentenced to VMN, commuted to 10 years l/s. He served his imprisonment in the Solovetsky special purpose camp. Released in 1925. From 1927 - Archbishop of Stalingrad, from 1930 - Archbishop of Crimea, from 1931 - Archbishop of Oryol, from 1935 - Archbishop of Semipalatinsk. Died 12/19/1937. He was buried in Taganrog at the city cemetery.
