Genus. in 1882 in Odessa in a Bulgarian family. In 1900 he joined the RSDLP, a Bolshevik. In 1902, he recruited Vladimir Antonov-Ovseenko into the party. Since 1934 - Deputy People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs of the USSR, in charge of Far Eastern affairs. Arrested 12/17/1938. Included in the Yezhov execution list dated 09/06/1940. The VKVS of the USSR was found guilty of creating a counter-revolutionary Trotskyist organization, espionage for Germany, Great Britain and Poland and sentenced to death. Executed 10/16/1940. In 1988 he was rehabilitated.
