Striltsiv (Streltsov) Vasily Stepanovich

Genus. in 1929 in the village. Zagvozdye, Ivano-Frankivsk region and region of the Ukrainian SSR; Ukrainian; higher education (graduated in absentia from the Faculty of Philology of Chernivtsi University in 1965), teacher. In 1944 he was convicted under Art. 54-10, 11 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR for 10 years, released in 1954, rehabilitated in 1957. Lived in Dolina, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He taught English at school. In 1977, he renounced Soviet citizenship and applied to leave for England, after which he was fired from school. Arrested on October 25, 1979 in Dolina for “violation of passport rules.” 11/12/1979 Dolinsky court sentenced under Art. 196 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 2 years of strict regime. In custody in a colony in the Poltava region. (315040, p/o Bozhkovoe, establishment OP-317/16). Shortly before the end of his two-year sentence, he was arrested on October 22, 1981. Sentenced by the Poltava Regional Court on April 28, 1982 under Art. 62 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Ukrainian SSR to 7 years of penal colony and 4 years of exile. Imprisoned in Dubravlaga (ZH-385/3-5). Released on 05/05/1987 on pardon. Died on May 16, 2004 in Ivano-Frankivsk.
